Psalms 119:11-18 GNB
I keep your law in my heart, so that I will not sin against you. 12 I praise you, O LORD; teach me your ways. 13I will repeat aloud all the laws you have given. 14I delight in following your commands more than in having great wealth. 15I study your instructions; I examine your teachings. 16I take pleasure in your laws; your commands I will not forget. 17Be good to me, your servant, so that I may live and obey your teachings. 18Open my eyes, so that I may see the wonderful truths in your law.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIRV
God has breathed life into all of Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true. It is useful for correcting our mistakes. It is useful for making our lives whole again. It is useful for training us to do what is right. 17By using Scripture, a man of God can be completely prepared to do every good thing.
Isaiah 55:11 NIV
…so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Isaiah 40:8 NIV
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.
If the Bible is actually the Word of God, what does this mean for you? What should your attitude and behavior be toward it?
What is the importance of the Word of God to our lives and the church?
Why does the teaching of the Word of God need to be a focus in all we do as a church?
